Privacy Policy
POLICY
At Streamline Financial Planning (SFP), we recognise that your privacy is very important to you – it is to us as well.
We have elected to be bound by, and committed to supporting, the National Privacy Principles (NPPs) set out in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000. Our aim is to both support and ensure that we comply with the NPPs that form the basis of laws introduced to strengthen privacy protection for our clients. The policy below sets out a summary of our key obligations under the NPPs.
To comply with legal requirements and to run our business effectively it is necessary for us to collect certain personal information about the people with whom we deal. At a minimum this usually includes information such as names, addresses and contact details. Additional information may be required depending on the nature of your dealings with us. If you provide inaccurate or incomplete information, we may not be able to provide you with the products or services you are seeking. You can request details of any personal information we hold about you and advise us if it is inaccurate, incomplete or out-of-date.
The information you provide may be disclosed to persons who have a contractual arrangement with us, including employees, contractors and Authorised Representatives. Information will not be disclosed beyond this group of people unless you have provided written authorisation that we may do so, or unless we are required or authorised by law to do so.
The information you provide will only be used for the purpose for which it was intended, unless you have consented to the information being used for a secondary purpose, or as part of our normal operations. Should you not wish to have your information used for secondary purposes, upon receipt of your request we will update your personal information in accordance with your request.
From time to time, we may send you electronic messages regarding matters that may not be directly relevant to the transaction(s) we are undertaking on your behalf. The format may include emails, SMS, instant messages etc. In keeping with the provisions of the Spam Act, we will not send you these messages (unsolicited commercial electronic messages) if you advise us that you do not wish to receive these from us.
SFP takes all reasonable security measures to protect personal information from loss, unauthorised access, destruction, misuse, modification or disclosure. As far as permissible under law, we accept no responsibility for the unauthorised use of personal information that we hold.
If you believe that any SFP employee, contractor or Authorised Representative has acted outside this policy, or your specific instructions, please contact our Privacy Officer.
Our Privacy Statement addresses the above policy in more detail. Should you have any concerns about how we collect, hold, use, disclose or transfer any information we hold about you, or would like further information, please feel free to contact our Privacy Officer.
